A feasibility study of a new club facility in Boca Raton
Boca Raton in Florida is located in Palm Beach County. The city was founded in 1925 and is populated by more than 3,50,000 people in an area of 75.4 sq.km. There are only four employment centers in south Florida metropolitan area and Boca Raton is one among these (Prosperi, 2008). The residents of the area are of urban culture. The population is a blend of retired people who are living along the beaches and another class of highly paid and educated professionals who are living in the interiors. This place is even considered as ‘status symbol’ by rich business people of Florida. There is also possibility of still more development in the area including its industries which include legal, finance, computing and publishing industries (Welsh et al 2008).
Boca Raton is a place where tourists would love to spend their holidays because of the cozy climate and beaches, which are beautiful. This is mainly because of the Gulf Stream, which is flowing close to the coast in Boca Raton unlike in other beaches of Florida. Because of this the climate is hot compared to other places and the environment is bright. This is considered as an ideal place for recreation especially water sports. Water skiing, surfing, drift fishing and sailing are the famous water sports here. There are beautiful reefs and wrecks closer to the shore and therefore people love to do scuba diving as well. Polo matches are organized in the winter. The beaches and so wide and calm and silent that people who are not interested in sports activities can simply lay down under the sun and spend the whole day. Thus it is an ideal place for recreation for a family.
Because of the rich climate here, it has become the haven for rich people of Florida and the worldwide. Throughout the year there are events, which is a blend of different cultures so that people all over the world enjoy this spot. Throughout the year the climate is fantastic and cultural as well as sports events are organized according to the season. Therefore people with different interest will never get bored in this place. There will be activities in which all people in a group will be interested and can engage themselves. This the one of the most important quality of the place unlike other spots where only sight seeing will be the only attraction. This also has made it one of the important destinations for tourists.
Another important attraction of Boca Raton is the Museum of Art. Here exhibitions of national as well as international importance are organized one after the other. The museum has permanent collections of the works by Degas, Matisse, Modigliani and Picasso. Apart from these there are also works of historical importance of artists from America and Europe. Modern paintings and photographic collections are also included. Pre-Columbian and African art are also included and forms important attractions. Apart from these, educational programmes, lectures, studio art classes, gallery tours etc are also organized inviting people from all over the world. Thus people all over the world make frequent visits to this small place. There are many shopping malls and currently only one resort and club facility in the city.
Thus from the above information about the city it is clear that the city is an ideal place for a new club facility which cater people round the world. The club should have facilities for various indoor games such as tennis and also swimming pool with all its amenities. There should be all the modern amenities that blend with the cultures round the world so that tourists can be easily attracted. If the area for the new club facility is near the beach, it will be more ideal since this is the destination for most of the tourists. The area, which is populated mainly by retired people who are wealthy, would love to spend their time in the club. So such a club can easily be the center of attraction of the city and can contribute to the overall development of the city.
